We find a very unique building, located at the end of the Carrera del Darro, opposite the Alhambra, which was built to house the new headquarters of the Monte de Piedad de Granada in the eighteenth century, moving from the Convent of San Agustin.<\/p>\n

The construction dates from between 1765 and 1770. In 1928 it was transformed into a residential building, the state in which we found it when we started the project.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The first idea of the developers who bought the building was to recover the public character of the building, converting it into a Hotel, but the bureaucratic obstacles that hinder the change of use to Hotel, in the protected neighborhood of the Albaicin, forced after more than 5 years of attempts, to maintain the Residential use.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The idea of the project was to highlight the different construction typologies that make up the building, even adding new ones, taking advantage of the renovation of the roofs. In such a way that depending on the area where we are located, the constructive mode will guide us.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The facade bay will be the noblest, with large spans resolved with large wooden beams. The bays around the central courtyard will have a more domestic construction system. With respect to the finishes, neutral materials are proposed, to enhance the value of the existing elements that are maintained. Recovered hydraulic floors, masonry walls, stone pilasters, wooden footings, lintels with volutes … in short, everything that represents the memory of the building and maintains the tone and atmosphere of the building, without losing sight of the necessary evolution: Sum and continues.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
