Sierra

Renovation of a tiny apartment in Sierra Nevada sky station

We delve into the conception of an architectural challenge that is based on the extreme optimization of spaces, a fundamental premise when addressing the typology of apartments in ski resort environments This project is built upon the philosophy of maximizing functionality and comfort within the inherent spatial limitations, transforming every square meter into a testament to ingenuity and intelligent design

The essence of the project lies in the strategic reconfiguration of conventional home uses, with the goal of amplifying the perception of space and minimizing the feeling of confinement. This task is tackled through meticulous distribution and spatial planning that promote multifunctionality and fluidity between areas, ensuring that each element not only fulfills its practical purpose but also contributes to a sense of spaciousness and liberation.

The wet area —comprising the kitchen, toilet, and bathroom— is reimagined to foster a harmonious balance between functional and aesthetic needs This approach allows for not only a more efficient distribution but also the creation of an environment that respects both privacy and practicality.

Storage, in turn, becomes the backbone of the project. Far from being merely a functional aspect, storage is conceptualized as a unifying element that intertwines the various spaces, infusing them with coherence, fluidity, and a sense of continuity. Through innovative and aesthetically pleasing storage solutions, every nook is maximized, demonstrating that intelligent design can overcome physical limitations and elevate the mountain living experience to new heights

Sierra Renovation

Renovation of a tiny apartment in Sierra Nevada

We face a challenge of minimums, since the typology of an apartment in a ski resort is to reduce each of the uses of a home to the minimum expression.

The project tries to take advantage of every square meter of the apartment, in such a way that the space is expanded and therefore the feeling of small spaces is reduced.

The wet area (kitchen, toilet and bathroom) is redistributed to balance the spaces

Storage becomes the element that sews the project together, giving fluidity to the spaces.
